Personal Reflection
Situation:
I am a university student finishing up a writing assessment, whereby the topic is to find out about the extinction of dinosaurs without exceeding the plagiarism limit. However, after submitting the assignment, the Turnitin plagiarism check showed high levels of similarities with other articles and journals.

Task :
To ensure that the similarities of the writing report decrease, I have decided to check on the parts where there are high similarities and paraphrase those parts of the writing report. My main task was to decrease the similarities of the writing report and maintain its original meaning.

Action:
The following experience has improved my paraphrasing skills and increased my awareness of how easy plagiarising is. This is because I paraphrase many parts of the writing report and brought it down to an 11% similarity rate. Therefore, I had a lot of practice in improving my paraphrasing skills.

Results:
The result obtained was satisfactory as I decreased the similarity rate to 11% which enabled me to complete the assignment before the deadline. From this experience, I have learned the importance of paraphrasing and how important of a skillset it is for a university student.
